In a significant step toward a greener future, SKÅL International Krabi and the Ao Nang Subdistrict Administrative Organisation have launched a pioneering recycling initiative in Ao Nang. This effort was pioneered by Ingeborg Fallet Kristensen, Managing Director of Krabi Spesialisten and the current SKÅL International Krabi President.
The unveiling of the first recycling bins of this kind, strategically placed in high-traffic areas, marks an important milestone in the journey towards better waste management and sustainable tourism in Krabi. This initiative reflects the strengthened collaboration between SKÅL International Krabi and local authorities as well as businesses, uniting stakeholders in a shared commitment to environmental responsibility.
“Having proper recycling options in Ao Nang has been a long-time goal of mine,” said Ingeborg Fallet Kristensen. “It’s inspiring to see this initiative take shape, and I hope it will encourage both locals and visitors to take part in protecting our beautiful environment.”
The first round of recycling bins has been sponsored by Krabi Spesialisten, further reinforcing the company’s dedication to sustainability. Moving forward, SKÅL International Krabi is inviting local businesses to sponsor additional bins, offering a unique opportunity to promote their brands while actively contributing to Ao Nang’s environmental efforts.
“This is just the beginning of SKÅL International Krabi’s mission to make Krabi a plastic-free destination,” said a spokesperson from SKÅL International Krabi. “We are committed to working closely with the Ao Nang Municipality, the Ministry of Tourism, and various local associations to develop comprehensive sustainability guidelines.”
